Summer Break 2023 - 24/07 to 16/08
Our factory will be closed from 24/07 to 16/08 inclusive: answers to your inquiries and messages may arrive more slowly than usual, but we will try to reply as soon as possible.
Happy summer to all of you!
All shipments are now even safer
The shipment of our products is the last step but, as always, we put in it all our attention.
Ensuring that our products reach you intact, in all their elements, is part of our quality promise.
For this reason we have decided to pack them with the utmost care, in modular wooden crates, with:
- protective materials and shockproof fillings
- signaling stickers
- crate tilt monitoring systems
- systems for monitoring sudden movements and falls from heights during transport
All crowned by a cone-cap to prevent the crates from being overlapped... and in the trust for our couriers.
So, here are our specialists at work and, after a few hours of work, your stoves, packed and ready to go!
Our production is even more sustainable thanks to solar energy!
We've been thinking about it for a long time and we've finally managed to carry out a very important project: using solar energy for our production, a choice of responsibility and environmental sustainability that we want to share, because it excites us.
In this moment of historical-social difficulty and problems in obtaining energy, we have decided to invest in a photovoltaic system with the aim of making ourselves as energy-independent as possible.
Today we can proudly say that, thanks to the large paneling that covers our factory, our Company reaches high levels of self-consumption. This allows us to guarantee continuity of production and make it more sustainable.
Thanks to those who chose us making all this possible!
And thanks to Solerà, the Canavese Company that followed us from the project to the construction of the plant, with commendable seriousness and professionalism.

All the decorations of our stoves have always been handmade, by an expert decorator, with colors or metallic paints, and applied following the frieze of the stove's ceramic or on smooth surfaces, to further enrich the aesthetics of the stove.

The decorations with color can be performed exclusively on light bases, for example white, cream or celadon, both glossy and opaque: during the second firing, the glaze, with a glass base, melts and acquires its transparency allowing the decoration to emerge and fix on the ceramic surface.
The characteristics of the decorations, colors and design, are agreed with the customer who will be free to choose between our classic proposals or provide his own ideas, further personalizing the product.

The decorations with metallic paints, of real gold and real platinum in an enamel solution, unlike the color, are applied with "third firing", that is after the enamelling and with a third passage in the kiln.
For an optimal result these decorations are applied only on certain enamels, for example the light base ones, the reds and some blue ones.
During firing, the gold or platinum decoration blends with the enameled surface acquiring its finish: it will be shiny when applied to shiny enamels and, in the same way, it will become opaque when combined with a matte enamel.

Happy holidays and Best Wishes for a Happy 2023
To all of you, who follow and support us, a warm wish for Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year 2023!
We take this opportunity to remind you that our factory will be closed on December 24, 25, 26, and then from December 30 to January 8, included.
So, to 2023!
The production of our pellet stoves has been suspended
Due to the difficulties of the present historical-economic moment, in finding some components and electrical parts, we are forced to suspend again the production of our pellet stoves, until further notice.
The ordered stoves will be completed but we will not be able to acquire new orders until the situation has normalized again.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
For any information you can write to us at: info@lacastellamote.it.
Surfaces that change over time
The surfaces of our products, made of glazed ceramic, smooth, decorated or with friezes, in principle, can have two types of finish, glossy or matte: for the glossy finish we use mixtures with high percentages of glass (crystalline) while for the opaque one, mixtures with opacifying components.
In both cases, what most characterizes them is the "Cracklè" effect, typical of glazed 'refractory' ceramics. This effect, visually similar to micro cracks in the surface, at first sight very evident on the gloss, but absent on the matt finish, derives from a real behavior of the refractory ceramic, which expands when heated and then shrinks during cooling.
This "movement" of the material, imperceptible to the eye, is actually the cause of Cracklè.
In stoves with a glossy finish, this texture is already present at the exit from the cooking oven and will tend to change over time with the use of the stove, becoming more and more dense while, in stoves with matt paint, the surface is initially smooth and without marks and then formed with the transition from hot to cold due to the use of the product.
This is the magic of glazes, and of ceramics, which will change by heating your homes.
Colors, and ceramic becomes unique

Color is the element that most makes our products special.
Do you want to know why?
Our colors are the result of real recipes, with a combination of individual ingredients, up to 4-5, which determine their characteristics: color, tone, fluidity, finish (glossy or matte) and behavior during cooking, always similar but never the same from one application to another.
Given the handcrafted nature of the blends, it is not possible to define universally valid codes for our colors; we can however affirm that, over the years, we have been able to refine the recipes and obtain a range of colors, different for each collection, which we consider “standard” and therefore stable.
The behavior of the color depends on the quantities but also on the characteristics of the individual ingredients. It often happens that the composition of the single element is changed by the supplier himself and this affects the final aesthetic result. For example, the color may be more or less dense and therefore have a different behavior during cooking, for example sliding differently on the surfaces.
The application of the color is a manual procedure, carried out with a spray gun, and consequently the thickness of the applied paint may slightly change. Even though our know-how of the number of color passes to be applied on the ceramic element is solid, thanks to experience, it is inevitable that small differences can occur, due to a more or less thick or light paint, for example.
So what happens to the stoves? It happens that, when firing the ceramic, the same color will always behave in a similar but never exactly the same way, and each stove will be similar but never identical in detail to another, and therefore unique in its kind!

Summer break from 23/07 to 16/08
For us too, finally, it's time for summer break.
Our factory will be closed from 23/07 to 16/08 inclusive: answers to your inquiries and messages may arrive more slowly than usual, but we will try to reply as soon as possible.
Happy summer to all of you!
Wood or pellets, which one to choose?
The home hearth, be it a fireplace or stove, is an indispensable corner for those who want a warm and welcoming atmosphere: it warms the house and at the same time furnishes, with its color and its warmth.
Wood or pellet stoves are both biomass heating systems, they use natural fuels, each with its own characteristics, suitable for satisfying different heating needs.
Wood stove
Wood heating has a very long tradition and for some it turns out to be a ritual.
A common saying has it that wood heats 3 times: when you cut it, to get the pieces to burn, when you load it, in the stove or to store it and move it, and when you burn it, the most awaited moment.
Benefits:
- The stove can be lighted without electricity;
- Wood can be available in abundance, and with considerable savings, for example in mountain and countryside areas;
- The cost of wood is advantageous compared to pellets;
- The wood stove is able to create a more comfortable atmosphere, the flame is more alive and natural;
- The wood stove generates heat for a long time even after combustion has ended;
- The level of maintenance required is very low.
On the other hand, wood requires more attention in purchasing, knowledge of suppliers and space for storage.
It also cannot be programmed. However, ignition is easy, it requires small wood and synthetic or natural based igniters.
Pellet stove
Pellet heating is based on the combustion of a material made with wood waste from sawmills or forestry companies. These materials are crushed, dried and pressed together, without the aid of any binder. Pellet is a fuel with a high thermal efficiency and calorific value, superior to those of wood. Pellet stoves are equipped with an electronic board that governs their entire operation, from ignition to shutdown.
Benefits:
- Pellets are a very efficient fuel;
- Pellet stoves have an electronic board that allows you to control the operation: ignition, temperature, programming etc;
- The combustion material is sold in bags, on average 15 kg, and is therefore easier to manage in terms of procurement and storage;
- Pellets require less space and can be purchased as needed or in a minimal quantity compared to wood.
The pellet stove is a heating system that requires electricity and is therefore unusable in the event of a power failure. In the pellet combustion system, reaching full capacity after ignition is faster but, at the same time, once turned off, the irradiation period is shorter than that of a wood stove.
Having many electronic components inside them, pellet stoves have higher maintenance costs than wood stoves: they also require more frequent cleaning.
Finally, although convenient compared to gas, pellets still have higher prices than wood.
There is therefore no single answer since there are many parameters to consider: personal tastes, design constraints, costs, methods of use, characteristics of the premises, etc.

We will be happy to help you!
